Ancestry.com has been pretty messed up this week, but I did find something that surprised me. It shouldn’t have, but sometimes it’s easy to miss obvious things.
I knew Grandma Patten (Harriet Emma WELLINGTON) was born in Cuba because her dad was working there, but it never occurred to me that that meant that at some point there would be a record of her entrance to the US. Even when an ancestry hint pointed me to the New York Passenger Lists database, it still took a moment for the light bulb to come on. But sure enough, there she is.
